The Tots team provides a curriculum that follows the principles of Te whāriki (NZ’s early childhood curriculum) and offers tamariki the chance to enjoy our beautiful island with the Tots Explorers programme. We are incredibly proud of the variety and depth of the programme we provide at Tots.
Excursions are a major part of our curriculum at Tots On The Rock, we get out of the centre most days of the week in small groups.
Our Community
Tots tamariki are encouraged to develop a sense of responsibility for the wellbeing of both the living and non-living environment.
Learning Group
Focusing on skills such as literacy, numeracy, problem solving and active enquiry, along with group co-operation, social competence, personal responsibility and independence.
Tuakana-Teina Learning Style
Tots uses the tuakana-teina style of learning where older tamariki guide, mentor and act as role models for younger tamariki.
Yummy Food
We serve child-friendly healthy meals daily. With a focus on nutrition and deliciousness, lunchtime is a favourite part of our day for the tamariki and the teachers! Got a dietary requirement? Just let us know, and we can accommodate you.
